Last night was the BRIT Award Launch Party where it was announced who is up for the gongs this year. 2010 also marks the events 30th anniversary and will feature the most memorable BRITs Performance Of 30 Years award.

The reality television show X-Factor has strongly influenced the shortlist this year with JLS nominated for a massive three awards, Cheryl Cole/Girls Aloud up for two, and Alexandra Burke and Joe McElderry up for one each.

A couple of winners have already been announced – late last year, Ellie Goulding was awarded the BRIT’s 2010 Critics Choice Award, and Robbie Williams was crowned winner of this year’s Outstanding Contribution To Music Award.

The ceremony takes place in London’s Earl’s Court on February 16.
