Beachdown Festival announce Brighton acts! Full line-up to follow!
Brighton’s very own festival returns to its beautiful location overlooking the sea on the picturesque South Down, 28th – 31st August!
Beachdown Festival supports local talent, inviting our own new and emerging Brighton acts to join an international line-up for the must-go Brighton event of 2009!! XYZ favourites and winners of XYZ Unsigned, Mean Poppa Lean have been confirmed, plus minimalist punk-folk trio Drookit Dogs, bluesy post-punkers Sweet Sweet Lies, hotly-tipped popsters Gloria Cycles and one of the hottest bands on the scene right now, Brighton’s sleazy rock ‘n’ rollers The Perils! Other exciting local artists confirmed are The Beautiful Word, Portslade, Los Albertos, Ocean Reid, Chris Simmons, Seeker, Two Spot Gobi and reggae act Rebel Control whose set last year was a Friday night highlight!
Organiser Joe Pidgeon says “Supporting local talent is key to the festivals success. Beachdown is all about supporting local talent and business and creating a festival that is uniquely Brighton. As well as Beachdown’s international line-up of acts I think this is one of the main reasons for last year’s event being such a success and why early bird ticket sales for this year’s event are already really strong.”
