Austin post-hardcore band Topdown return with new single “Paranoid” and announce forthcoming album “The Earth & All Its Pavement”. Expect heavy riffs, impassioned vocals, and hardcore energy with a fresh spin.
Topdown have erupted onto the scene from Austin, Texas, offering up a fresh take on melodic post-hardcore with their brand new single “Paranoid”.
This dynamic five-piece first caught attention in 2024, when a group of musical transplants from both US coasts found themselves united in the city, sparking instant creative chemistry and launching their self-titled debut album.
Now they’re back with “Paranoid”, the lead single and video from upcoming LP “The Earth & All Its Pavement”, due for physical release on 17 September via Diverse Chorus Records. The new material pulses with the energy reminiscent of ’90s and early-2000s emo, hardcore, and pop punk. Expect big, muscular guitar riffs, plenty of hooks, and that infectious blend of anguished screams and atmospheric, reverb-drenched melodies that could easily whip a venue into excitement. With band members doubling as audio engineers, Topdown keep things strictly DIY – writing, recording, and producing every record in-house for that raw, unfiltered energy.
The single is out now, and the band pairs the release with a striking video, capturing their intense live spirit and camaraderie. As Topdown gear up for the album drop later this autumn, they’re set to draw in fans of nostalgic yet forward-thinking post-hardcore.
