What the Blood Revealed are an instrumental rock band from way up on the west cost of Scotland. Formed in 2004, they have given birth to a sound seriously influenced by overwhelmingly talented and intelligent left-field acts such as Isis, Neurosis and Mogwai; these guys don’t sing about parties, girls or having a good time. Instead they find their inspiration in science and the many truths it continues to reveal, whilst shaping our world.

This may sound super pretentious (to be fair it probably is a little bit) but What the Blood Revealed believe in what they play and pull it off brilliantly. They are super tight and intensely wrought; pretty picked guitar work and subtle yet complex percussion breathlessly leads toward huge crescendo’s that mark life-affirming moments for anyone who loves Explosions in the Sky.

Having already toured the world and recorded their debut album (“Harbour of Devils” – out now on Field Records) with mega heavy indie producer Ross McGowan, the man responsible for Danananackroyd’s self-described ‘fight pop’ sound, you really should head down to The Hope and make their long drive worthwhile.
