Currently touring the UK with their enigmatic, poignant, experimental post-rock sound, the mysterious Brighton duo Nordic Giants return to their hometown for an audio-visual extravaganza at Concorde2, in a collaborative performance with The Shadow Enigma.
The multi-instrumentalist duo, billed only as ‘***** ******’ and ‘*** *********’ on Facebook, utilise electronics and live instrumentation combined with acclaimed short films to lift each of their shows to a collaborative cinematic multi-genre immersive experience.
Nordic Giants state that they draw inspiration from other transcendent musical titans such as Sigur Ros and Bjork, as well as Massive Attack and Cinematic Orchestra, and the duo do justice to their names. Expansive sound-scaping and melodramatic, melodic scores weave together electro samples and Omnisphere synths, live drums, trumpets, keys, and even Sigur Ros frontman Jonsi’s trademark bowed guitar playing.
The duo formed just over a year ago, and is already playing gigs at art centres and venues across the country, with a UK tour this year. The debut double EP, Build Seas, Dismantle Suns was released independently October 1st and is well worth a listen.
However, it’s the live experience that really shows these artists at their full, multi-dimensional depth. Expect a unique and unforgettable experience that will submerge your senses in another world.
Starting at 7.30pm, £12 advance. Aged 14+, Under 16s must be accompanied by adult (18+)
