Finally! After weeks of lobbying the government in unity with other open-air theatres and members of the performing arts industries, BOAT is finally able to re-open their gates for live performances!

Keen to thank everyone who has supported them during the last few months of closure – they’re opening up with a condensed programme for the remainder of the summer!

We’re all desperate for safe ways to have fun at the moment, so get involved and support them, and have a brilliant time to boot! Pack a picnic and get the kids in the car, and get over to enjoy a fabulous show as the sun sets over Dyke Park.

The first show: BOAT Unlocked!

The first production of the season takes place on Saturday 25th July: BOAT Unlocked – a celebration of local artists and companies in a relaxed, cabaret-style variety show. There will be two line-ups, one at 2pm and the other at 6pm.

Tickets are £5, £10 and £20 – and all admit 1 person, with seating unreserved. The different prices are offered depending on what you are able to contribute – all proceeds from BOAT Unlocked will be split between BOAT and the artists. They will also be collecting donations on the day.

The line ups are as follows:

2pm – Compered by Boogaloo Stu, featuring:

  • McGoozer acoustic music
  • This Is My Theatre scenes from plays interspersed with songs
  • Project Female all-female dance troupe
  • Charlotte Glasson Band jazz and latin music

6pm – Compered by Flick Ferdinando, featuring:

  • Bad Mutha Covers groovy cover songs
  • Voodoo Vaudeville aerial circus
  • Gin Palace Productions scenes and songs from the 50s
  • Rhianna McGreevey acoustic music
  • Suspiciously Elvis crowd-pleasing Elvis hits

Further acts may be announced over the next few days, it’s expected that tickets will sell out fast so book early to avoid disappointment!
