Hailing from New Jersey, USA, The Dillinger Escape Plan tore into Concorde 2 with an energy that rocked the venue to the core. Dressed in halloween attire, with a series of gory images, the band burst straight into “Prancer” and continued to tear through their setlist, accompanied by the crowd. At one point, guitarist, Benjamin Weinman launched himself into the sea of people, guitar and all. Lifted upright by fans in time to play his solo, he was then carried by a wave of hands back to the stage. If there ever was a band who gave one hundred percent, one hundred percent of the time during a performance….
Their endless intensity and power echoed around the venue, seeping into the audience and igniting a series of mosh and circle pits as well as constant crowd surfers throwing themselves across the wall of bodies in an effort to reach vocalist Greg Puciato.
Their encore came in the form of Aphex Twin cover “Come To Daddy” and their final song was well know favourite, “43% Burnt”.
First support came from UK native post-rock band Maybeshewill who tore up the stage to a roar of applause. Second support was intrumental rock group Three Trapped Tigers who proved to be a surprisingly talented three piece, converting many in the audience to instant fans.
