Charities and not-for-profit organisations are invited to a free workshop aimed at helping them understand and respond to changing funder expectations.

The What Funders Want in 2026 – and Beyond workshop is being hosted by specialist charity insurer Ansvar Insurance. The event will take place on 29th September 2026 in the company’s Community Hub located at its Brighton office, with organisations outside Sussex able to join virtually.

The session will be delivered by Emma Insley, Director of Insley Consulting and a former charity chief executive and Grants Assessor for BBC Children in Need. Drawing on her experience of working with charities and funders, Emma will explore key trends shaping funding decisions and what organisations need to do to remain competitive.

As funders place increasing emphasis on evidence, outcomes and organisational learning, many charities are finding they need to demonstrate more than simply the results of their work. The workshop will examine the three key signals emerging from UK funders in 2026: credible evidence of need, impactful storytelling that combines data with meaningful outcomes, and visible learning from evaluation.

Jane Perkins, Marketing Manager at Ansvar, commented:

“Expectations are evolving, especially around measuring effectiveness, and organisations need confidence they’re focusing their efforts in the right areas. Our workshop is designed to provide clear, practical guidance on the issues that matter most to funders. We hope it will help charities strengthen their funding applications, better communicate their story and feel more confident navigating a changing funding environment.”

The event begins at 11am with refreshments and networking opportunities for in-person attendees. Emma Insley’s presentation will run from 11.30am to 1.00pm, followed by lunch, with the event concluding at 1.45pm. Virtual attendees can join the session between 11.15am and 1.00pm.

Organisations wishing to attend in person or virtually are asked to register by 18th September 2026 via the event registration link – https://tally.so/r/yPpxo8.

The event forms part of Ansvar’s ongoing commitment to supporting the charity sector through its Community Hub. The hub offers charities and not-for-profit organisations free access to meeting rooms, training facilities and hot-desking space.
