Explore and enjoy the wonderful world of spice with Minesh Agnihotri, founder of award-winning restaurant Indian Summer.

Explore and enjoy the wonderful world of spice with Minesh Agnihotri, founder of award-winning restaurant Indian Summer and recipe box scheme, the Kari Club. Minesh specialises in authentic Indian cooking and will share with you the skills he learned at his mother’s side on holiday in Gujarat as he recreates the tastes of India in the Community Kitchen.

This time Minesh is offering the secrets behind a sensational set of classic dishes that remind him of his childhood. You will create a menu of:

  • Mamaji’s chicken
  • Cumin & bayleaf basmati rice
  • Thoran salad with sweet potato and carrot
  • Wholemeal chapatis

Mamaji’s chicken is an interpretation of one of Minesh’s favourite dishes that his mum used to cook. Boneless chicken thigh made with fresh spices, cashew nut puree and roasted fenugreek. Cooked with a beautiful sweet potato and carrot thoran, cumin and bayleaf basmati rice and wholemeal chapatis.

Dietary information: This class can be adapted for dairy-free or gluten-free diets, but this must be specified when booking. Please note we cannot guarantee the kitchen is a fully gluten-free environment. For any other allergies or dietary requirements, please contact us to discuss before booking.

About Minesh

Minesh Agnihotri’s passion for food was sparked during his frequent childhood trips to Gujarat in India. Later, dismayed by the offering of many traditional curry houses in the UK, in 2001 he founded Indian Summer, the award-winning Indian restaurant. His latest venture is The Kari Club, the UK’s first Indian recipe box giving everybody the chance to recreate authentic Indian food in their own homes.

Previous participants on Minesh’s classes said: “Really enjoyed the experience – very informative and delicious food.” “Will cook more Indian food, and use fresh ingredients.” “Learnt lots of tips, including knife skills, using spices, oil and more.”

Tickets for this event include:
