An enlightening talk on Psychedelics from a key researcher at the Psychedelic Research Group at Imperial College London…
Psychedelics have been used around the world for thousands of years, and there is even evidence of other mammals seeking out psychoactive plants while foraging for food. In today’s world, we are experiencing a psychedelic renaissance after decades of prohibition.
These powerful molecules are being studied for their applications in neuroscience and mental health treatments. Dr. Chris Timmermann, our speaker, is one of the key researchers in this field. In this talk, he will outline the science behind the most well known psychedelics, and explain how they increase interconnectivity in the brain. We will also learn how these compounds can treat anxiety, depression and PTSD.
Christopher Timmermann (PhD) is a neuroscientist and psychologist from Santiago, Chile and based at the Centre for Psychedelic Research in Imperial College London, where he conducted the first neuroimaging studies on the effects of the potent psychedelic, DMT. His work focuses on the neuroscience, psychology, beliefs and ethics of the psychedelic experience.
Doors Open 7pm
Talk Starts 7.30pm and will be followed by a Q&A
