 elics have been used around the world for thousands of years\, and there i
 s even evidence of other mammals seeking out psychoactive plants while for
 aging for food. In today’s world\, we are experiencing a psychedelic ren
 aissance after decades of prohibition.\n\nThese powerful molecules are bei
 ng studied for their applications in neuroscience and mental health treatm
 ents. Dr. Chris Timmermann\, our speaker\, is one of the key researchers i
 n this field. In this talk\, he will outline the science behind the most w
 ell known psychedelics\, and explain how they increase interconnectivity i
 n the brain. We will also learn how these compounds can treat anxiety\, de
 pression and PTSD.\n\nChristopher Timmermann (PhD) is a neuroscientist and
  psychologist from Santiago\, Chile and based at the Centre for Psychedeli
 c Research in Imperial College London\, where he conducted the first neuro
 imaging studies on the effects of the potent psychedelic\, DMT. His work f
 ocuses on the neuroscience\, psychology\, beliefs and ethics of the psyche
