Join us for a night celebrating neurodiversity and creativity!
Animated videos, spoken word poetry and discussion.
Figment Arts present a showcase launch of animated videos and spoken word poetry around autistic communication and loneliness, created in response to autistic academic Dr Gemma Williams research project at the University of Brighton.
We worked together over several months to develop a series of short, animated films that communicate the findings from a PhD research project called ‘Talking Together’. The research investigated communication between autistic and non-autistic speakers and also looked at the topic of loneliness and social isolation.
Autistic artists worked on their own short films and creative writing responding to the themes of miscommunication, interacting socially as an autistic person, and loneliness.
Come and enjoy a lively evening of short animated film screenings, performance spoken word and informal discussions about the work.
