Get Food & Money Smart: Budget-Friendly Cooking Class (16–25s)
Join Brighton & Hove Food Partnership for a practical cookery session at the Youth Employment Hub where we’ll build confidence in budget-friendly cooking and money management, all while cooking and eating together.
This session is all about developing skills that help you eat well, save money, and feel more confident in the kitchen.
What we’ll cook
We’ll start with one simple base recipe and turn it into three versatile meals you can use again and again:
- Simple Tomato Sauce
- Vegetarian Bolognese
- Vegetarian Chilli
You’ll learn how to stretch ingredients, reduce food waste, and get maximum nutrition for minimum cost.

- How to meal plan on a budget
- Cooking simple, nutritious meals with affordable ingredients
- Making one base recipe go further
Money Confidence
- Practical tips to budget and track spending
