Austin TX’s The Sword have already released two flawless “slabs of vintage heaviness” on Kemado Records and are preparing to release another this summer. “Warp Riders” has already been described as their most ambitious record to date – grand in scope both lyrically and in terms of musical craftsmanship – and it is the band’s first concept album. This is also the first release where the group has worked with an outside producer, with Matt Bayles (Pearl Jam, Mastodon, Isis) helping create “Warp Riders” into a epic science-fiction narrative.
Earlier this year The Sword’s Trivett Wingo had the following to say; “We’ve never attempted something quite on this scale as far as song writing and sheer sonic magnificence go and we’re a little worried it might be TOO AWESOME for you to handle.”
“Warp Riders” is to be released on August 23.
