Com-rockers Jack Black- famous for his acting as well as his music, including the lovable Po in Kung Fu Panda and the crabby comedian Kyle G have shown interest in creating their own version of Woodstock in a RollingStone interview. They’re hoping to entice the likes of Flight Of The Conchords, Spinal Tap, Tim Minchin, Eric Idle, Lonely Island, Weird Al, Neil Hamburger, Tim and Eric, Zach Galifianakis and possibly even South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker to play what they call the “Super Bowl of comedy-rock”.
There’s nothing official yet beyond the date – October 19 – but it looks set to be sited on the Santa Monica Pier.
Tenacious D, currently on their Grammy-nominated third album, ‘Rize of the Feniz’, are known for their sometimes surreal, often sexual tracks, and are most famous for “Tribute”. Whilst it may be a stretch to get out their to see the show live, there are always hopes of a DVD release, or some form of online streaming.
