WHY?, the handsome US trio, are playing at Brighton’s Komedia later this month. WHY? was originally the alias for Jonathan ‘Yoni’ Wolf, but it soon became a full band with the addition of Doug McDiarmid and Yoni’s brother Josiah, and together they released the album Eyelash Elephant in 2005. They “fiddle with skins, strings, bells and microphones and present their findings to the listening public” and have been described as an American hip hop and indie folk rock band. Under the name WHY?, Yoni (and co.) have released a number of LPs, EPs, singles, limited CD-Rs – recorded live as a five-piece, and various collaborations with a number of groups.
Tickets for WHY?’s show at the Brighton Komedia on March 21 are still available from komedia.co.uk/brighton for £12. Doors are at 7.30pm, with support from I Might Be Wrong and Josiah Wolf.
