Northbrook College is pleased to announce that is the key education partner for The Great Escape 2010!

The college will be hosting interactive workshops and stimulating debates on contemporary issues that are relevant to the music industry. On day one of the festival, the first of three debates is entitled ‘Will a qualification get you a job in Music Production?’ and it asks whether things have changed since the time when everyone just started at the bottom and worked their way up. On day two the second debate discusses ‘Digital Marketing for artists – what actually works?’ and will explain what is working and what isn’t in this fast changing environment. On day three, Northbrook hosts ‘The Legal Panel’ which brings together some of the top international legal experts who work with the biggest names in music.

The panels are coordinated by Mike Pailthorpe, course leader for the college’s Music Business degrees, and Lisa Holloway, The Great Escape’s fundraising manager who also plays a business development role at Northbrook as well as teaching on its Music Business courses. Several ex-Northbrook students are also appearing on the panels – notably; Radha Medar (record label manager at Deadly People), Dan Arnold (of the Qemists and part time teacher at Northbrook), Will Rankin (aka High Rankin, well-known artist and remixer) and Caitlin Lock (music label marketeer, currently with [PIAS] Digital Marketing).

The conferences will take place at the Brighton Dome from May 13 to 15.
