A selection of abstract paintings of neon lights by Dominic Bradnum is now on show at the Caroline of Brunswick on Ditchling Road. Dominic Bradnum creates striking paintings of neon lights – pop-art slogans, playful one-liners, abstract forms, bleak thoughts and black humour lit up for all to see.
The images seem to shimmer across the canvas, playing with the viewer’s perception, and capturing the incandescent quality of neon lighting. Tucked away in the cosy, faux-fur clad boudoir area of the pub, the sensually painted canvases seem to shimmer in the half-light of their shadowy surroundings. The exhibition is on now and will continue until 28 February 2010.
