British indie folksters Mumford & Sons are celebrating this week with the announcement that their debut album ‘Sigh No More’ has risen to number seven in the UK Albums Chart – its highest position to date! The album was released in October 2009 and debuted at number 11, but with sales of over 150,000 copies over the past week, it has pushed it back up the charts where it breaks the Top 10 for the first time.
Following their unique tour of India in December, the four-piece will head down under to Australia and New Zealand later this month, and then onto a series of shows in America, which will include a now sold-out night at New York’s Bowery Ballroom. Mumford & Sons forthcoming UK and Ireland tour booked for March has now completely sold out!
Mumford & Sons are playing at Brighton’s Corn Exchange on the 12th March.
