Keep A Child Alive has been chosen as an International Charity partner for the inaugural Brighton Marathon taking place in April 2010.

This new marathon event is planned to take place annually in the beautiful setting of Brighton and Hove, incorporating both the coast and the city.  It offers a new alternative to the London Marathon which is the only other major marathon in England. The initial number of runners permitted is 12,000 with a view to increase the amount of entries in the coming years.

Alicia Keys is the Global Ambassador for Keep A Child Alive and as a keen runner she is delighted that the charity is expanding into the field of running and encourages people to sign up and run for this cause.

“As an avid runner myself I know how exhilarating it is to run but to run for a greater cause is the ultimate satisfaction. Run for Keep A Child Alive at the Brighton Marathon!  We will use the funds you raise and save lives, protect children and give hope to Africans and Indian’s who need our help because AIDS has ravaged their communities”.

Keep A Child Alive is an urgent response to the AIDS pandemic ravaging Africa and India. Founded in 2003 by producer and AIDS activist Leigh Blake and Grammy award winning Alicia Keys, Keep A Child Alive is a widely successful and influential charity that offers people the opportunity to provide lifesaving anti-retroviral medicine and essential support services directly to those living with HIV/AIDS and orphan care for children with HIV who have lost their parents to HIV/AIDS. To date KCA has helped over 250,000 people.

Please make a difference by joining team Keep A Child Alive at the inaugural Brighton Marathon on Sunday 18 April 2010.  For more information, click here.
