The lunatics are taking over the asylum! Or a bit of it at least… Glade is offering three £1,000 grants and several backstage tickets to those who would like to design their own area at Glade Festival 2010.
Glade Festival’s Creative Director, Nick Ladd, said; “We are looking for people with creative ideas who think differently and can bring off-the-wall, kooky ideas to Glade … We’ve been going to Burning Man for the last few years and the show there is 100% generated by the people that attend the festival. As a result, the creative diversity is mind boggling, so we are bringing a bit of that vibe to the UK to see what ideas people have got buried in the surrealist depths of their minds. We can’t wait to see what people come up with!”
Glade have also revealed a student ambassador scheme which see recruited students become marketing partners to help promote the event and sell tickets at their respective universities on a commission basis. Glade Union will be working with Bath, Birmingham, Bournemouth, Bristol, Cardiff, Exeter, Oxford Brookes, Plymouth, Portsmouth and Southampton universities as part of the programme, and student applicants are invited to join the selection process by going to gladefestival.com/students.
Students can also score a £2,000 arts bursary to be awarded to the best proposal for a site art installation that will be built at Glade 2010. Application forms can be downloaded from gladefestival.com/students.
Glade was awarded Best Large Event at this year’s Breakspoll Awards and now in its seventh year, Glade Festival promises to be bigger and better than ever!
