Local lads, The Dead Swans are excited to announce tour dates throughout Europe with The Carrier to kick off the end of 2009. In support of debut album Sleepwalkers, released on American hard-core label Bridge 9, this two week European jaunt takes the guys to Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, Austria, and the UK. Called “blistering and nervously confrontational” by Alternative Press Magazine, Sleepwalkers was unleashed to the masses in early August, and already has Dead Swans being hailed as one of the best bands out of the UK.
Aside from the strength of their critical acclaim or their recorded music is Dead Swans live show. After their first stateside tour in the spring of 2009, Dead Swans are a band that is going to leave a mark upon the American hardcore scene whether the US populace knows it or not.
As Payne states, “We have always been a live band. That’s how we’ve always been. This record captures our live sound better than anything could, and it doesn’t matter where you’re from, if you smash it live, people will pay attention.”
And with more shows under their belt than most American bands embarking upon their first full-length, few bands have the experience and the confidence that Dead Swans shows on Sleepwalkers and it’s proof that this is only the beginning of an impending ascendence to the top of the worldwide hardcore ranks.
Unfortunately no Brighton date has been confirmed for this tour BUT you can catch Dead Swans at the Freebutt on Friday 18th December. Tickets are still available for this show from myspace.com/freebutt.
