Reach for your spacesuit and get ready to bob your head to San Francisco’s premier space-psyche band Moon Duo. Husband and wife duo Ripley Johnson (Wooden Shjips) and Sanea Yamada, bring their Suicide/Hawkwind inspired prog freak outs to Brighton, via local experimental ambassadors One Inch Badge.
If you’re a fan of the San Fran stoned sound, then you’ll be wanting to catch them on the final date of their European tour. Currently promoting their latest album “Circles”, the two psych-a-naughts have been busy expanding their sound in this latest release. Expect pounding drums, fuzzed out guitars, ’60s organ grooves and psychedelic background visuals (and that’s without any mind altering substances!). If you’ve not seen them before, don’t be upset when you find yourself listening to the same bass-kick drum loop for eight and a half minutes. There is something strangely hypnotic about it after the first five. Also don’t forget to bring earplugs. This show’s going to be loud! And for a two piece, that’s pretty impressive.
7pm, August 20, The Haunt. Tickets: £10 Advance + Booking Fee. Ages 14+
