Why would any band want to come all the way to England in Autumn, especially when they are the insanely up-beat and sunny Ball Park from Brisbane, Australia? Who knows? But make sure that you catch a slice of Aussie indie pop to fight off those SAD blues. Not because it’s getting dark earlier, but because Mumford & Sons are on what looks like permanent hiatus.
With a lot of hype surrounding these guys, and a couple of singles featuring in the motherland’s charts, it would be rude not to show them some hometown hospitality (and also to judge, always to judge). Sounding like a SoCal pop punk band who learned a few keyboard riffs, they carry on a grand tradition of wacky, light hearted pop music from the land of Oz. Makes us Brits look like we’ve never done a beer bong in our lives, but you can bet your bottom (Australian) dollar that Ball Park party as hard as they do on stage.
7pm, October 27, The Blind Tiger Club, £6
