Since picking up a guitar at age eight, Yorkston has moved through various bands and a punk spell to become an extremely well-respected solo folk artist. John Peel was a big fan, as was John Martyn. Not just popular with Johns, Yorkston’s 8th studio album was released in August to very favourable reviews. A thoughtful, beguiling performer not to be missed.
