Few bands can claim to have shaped the sound of modern electronic pop quite like OMD. More than four decades after pioneering the synth-pop movement, the duo return to the Brighton Centre with “Summer of Hits”, a concert celebrating a catalogue that helped define the soundtrack of the 1980s and beyond.
From the anti-war anthem “Enola Gay” to favourites such as “Souvenir”, “Maid of Orleans” and “Electricity”, OMD’s music remains as influential as it is instantly recognisable.
What separates OMD from many of their contemporaries is their ability to balance experimentation with accessibility. Their songs combine soaring melodies, emotional depth and innovative electronic arrangements, creating music that feels both nostalgic and surprisingly fresh.
Live, that translates into a show packed with energy, where shimmering synth lines, driving rhythms and huge singalong moments sit alongside a genuine appreciation for the band’s artistic legacy.
Adding to the occasion, this performance has a charitable purpose, with all profits being donated to NHS My Music through My University Hospitals Sussex, supporting local healthcare projects across the region.
