Situated in the stunning surroundings of the South Downs at Glynde Place, the UK’s greatest 3-day outdoor jazz, funk and soul festival returns for its 5th year of music and good times. This year’s monumental line up is spearheaded by The Jacksons, George Benson, Gregory Porter, Herbie Hancock, Laura Mvula, Kamasi Washington, Corinne Bailey Rae, Badbadnotgood and many more big hitters, as well as hotly tipped newcomers.
All of these great acts are spread across four stages: The Main Stage which hosts headliners and more contemporary soul and funk artists; The Big Top which hosts the top international and UK jazz artists; The Arena where you will find younger artists pushing the limits of what jazz, soul and funk sounds like today; and The Bandstand which has the best local offerings, hosted by the Verdict Jazz Club.
Of course, it’s not just the music that you can enjoy here. DJ sets, talks and lectures, classic album playbacks, films, dance classes and action packed kids areas should keep everyone occupied. If it all gets a bit much then you can even get a massage or do some free yoga in the Supreme Wellbeing area. The iconic record shop Rough Trade will also be set up on site if you fancy a spot of shopping or want to attend one of the many album signings throughout the weekend!
The festival is approximately 20 minutes from Brighton and an hour and a half from central London by train or by car.
