If Brighton was a dining table that stretched out along the sea…

Who sits at the table?

What’s on the menu?

And what stories are told across the table?

Brighton People’s Theatre wants to meet you, to create a new story for the stage. The story is called Born and Bread: it’s about home, belonging, and identity, and we want to meet people from all different backgrounds to bring it to life.

Whether you were born in Brighton or have just arrived, we want to meet you.

Born and Bread will be performed at the Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts (ACCA) in July 2022. There are lots of ways to be involved.

📚 Tell us a story.

🎵 Write a song.

🍲 Cook some food.

🎭 Perform in the show.

👚 Make some costumes.

🤩 Be part of the audience.

No prior experience of any kind is required. Drop in to one workshop, or join us for the whole creative journey.

We’re running drop-in workshops between 21 February to 8 April 2022. We’ll then be rehearsing weekly from 25 April to 15 July 2022 ready for the performance at ACCA.

We are running four workshops across the City each week. Meet people. Share food. Play games. Tell a story.

Over the Easter holidays, our writers Jack Parris and Tanushka Marah will write a script for a show. We’ll then be rehearsing once a week (except during the May half term) from 25 April to 15 July ready for the performance at ACCA that will take place on a date TBC in July.
