For the 5th year running, we present the FREE Self Love festival for Black women and Women of Colour.
For the 5th year running, we present the Self Love Festival for women of colour only!
BRIGHTON DOME – Church St BN1 1EU
East gate, entrance 4, (near the Dome Ticket office)
SATURDAY 15 FEBRUARY 2025
First 100 through the door get an exclusive Women of Colour Brighton pin badge.
Doors open at 9.30am – if you are attending the yoga class – bring a mat.

10am – Yoga with Nicola Harvey – bring a yoga mat!
11am – Poetry with Erin James
12pm – FREE Lunch from Simply Veg
1pm – Singing for healing with Adriana Lord
2pm – Bollywood dancing with Mubeena
3pm – end of event – after party at the Actors!

Saree Draping Fun Shop
10am Morning session – first come first served
12.45pm – Afternoon session – first come first served
Spend time with Poppy and the team learning to drape a saree.
This Funshop is first and foremost designed for you to have fun! We’ll have over 20 preloved sarees in different colours and materials for you to drape. Guided by the expertise of Poppy, a saree collector and enthusiast, we’ll also explore identity and how it feels to wear a saree.This is a safe space to share experiences through fun and glamour.
Funshop Outline:
- A short discussion on the story of the saree from Poppy
- Follow along and Drape up
- Re-group and close
This Funshop is free but if you would like to you can donate to the Re-Balance Scholarship through our Just Giving page.

The Women of Colour Brighton group is a vibrant and growing network of over 1500 members in Brighton and beyond, run by passionate volunteers. Our lively private Facebook group is the go-to place for sharing resources and job opportunities.
We are an amazing mix of women, from those new to Brighton to professionals like lawyers, CEOs, business owners, students, DJs, therapists, poets, and performers. We welcome mums, younger people and elders.
Our group can signpost you to info on family events, women’s health, refugee support and much more. We want to support you.
We meet monthly to support, inspire, and connect on the last Thursday (changing to the last Monday in 2025) of the month from 7pm at the Actors Brighton. If you’re a Black, Brown, Latinx, Asian, Arab, Mixed or Indigenous woman*, you’re in!
