It follows his 2018 EP ‘Drove’ which received huge plaudits from BBC 6 Music and BBC Introducing with 6Music DJ Tom Robinson making standout track ‘Still In Bed’ his 6 Music Recommends Track Of The Week and Track Of The Year So Far in 2019.
Having previously supported the likes of Mark Chadwick (The Levellers), The Little Unsaid and Megson as well as wowing the crowds at this year’s Cambridge Folk Festival, these dates mark Luke’s first ever run of headline gigs and he will be showcasing songs from his “outstanding” (Folk Radio) debut album. As well as picking up rave reviews from some of the biggest sites & publications on the indie & folk scenes, the acclaimed music platform Bandcamp made the album one of their ‘New & Notable’ releases, gaining Luke new followers in all four corners of the globe.
Known for his captivating, engaging and emotive live performances, Williams paints pictures with words and sings them in his own distinctly English voice.
“The songwriting and the vocal delivery are just so raw, heartfelt and beautiful that I find it irresistible” – Tom Robinson, BBC6 Music
“He is a writer of rare talent, a singer with the ability to rivet your attention. Our Blood Is Red is outstanding” – Bob Fish, Folk Radio
“Gave me a shiver down my back, just like the first time I heard Nick Drake and The Lake Poets. Luke James Williams is the Real Deal” – The Rocking Magpie
Luke will be joined by fantastic local artist Rosie Saffron. Inspired heavily by Indie-Folk artists, including the likes of First Aid Kit, Bears Den, Fleet Foxes and Bon Iver, 22 year old Brighton-based Singer-Songwriter Rosie Saffron combines her love of reading and songwriting, drawing influence from the way Classic Folk always tells a story, through introspective lyrics and haunting, creative melodies. With a love for the music scene in Brighton, Rosie moved to study Music Performance and Vocals at BIMM Institute Brighton and has been taking every opportunity to perform, network and share these stories further since. Back in March of this year, Rosie performed as part of the Folk band, Letti and the Mouse as part of Hastings Fat Tuesday Festival, and is currently focusing on her solo project, writing continuously, with the aim of releasing an EP in the coming year, as well as performing as part of Brighton’s Great Escape Festival on the upcoming artist’s stage.
