Join us for a 3-hour guided foraging walk through Brightons nature reserve. Led by Leo aka The Barefoot Forager.
3-hour guided forage
Leo’s approach to foraging is engaging, fun, and informative not only teaching how to identify but digging into the science and nutrition of wild food.
🌿What to expect
How to identify various species of plants, trees and fungi (if we can find em!).
What to do with this stuff! You will get recipes, bushcraft ideas or medicinal uses for all our wild finds.
Science, nutrition and historical facts on a case by case basis.
🌿Location
Stanmer park is a beautiful open grassland and mixed woodland nature reserve noted for its abundance of plants and fungi.
🌿What to bring
Please check the weather and dress appropriately – the rain won’t stop us walking!
Bring water for the day and snacks if you feel you will need them.
A form of taking notes (your phone does work well for this)
🌿How the day will run
Arrival time is 9:45am at the Lower Lodges east car park Stanmer park. Closest train station is Falmer.
Walk starts at 10am finishing at 1pm with a recap of our finds at the end.
The route will vary day to day but it’s all easy terrain, not climbing any mountains!
🌿Facilities and parking
There are both toilet and water filling facilities on site. Parking will need to be paid for on arrival, £4.20 for 4 hours.
