A screening of Dario Argento’s Suspiria (1977) + Afterparty with Church of Italo.
Presented in partnership with ProjectOurs and Church of Italo
Join Brighton-based film collective ProjectOurs for a special Halloween screening of Dario Argento’s 1977 Suspiria, followed by a live DJ set from Church of Italo. Inspired by the maximalist visuals of both giallo cinema and Catholicism, ProjectOurs has curated a night of horror and high camp at Fabrica.
The night will be hosted in two parts. Tickets can be bought for both parts at a discounted bundle price, or are available to purchase separately.
PART 1: 7 – 9 – FILM: Suspiria / 1977 / 1hr 40 mins / Rated 18
Dario Argento’s cult classic Suspiria (1977) is a vibrant journey into the bright red world of hysteria and supernatural chaos. Spotlighting the point at which femininity meets madness, there’s an intrinsic pull to this blood-soaked horror which has made it a crowd favourite for decades.
Set within the Black Forest, Germany, Suspiria follows American ballet dancer Suzy Bannion as she joins a prestigious dance school. Following a chain of brutal murders, Suzy begins to realise that things are not as they seem at the Tanz Akademie, leading her into a hidden world of cult ritual and sacrifice.
“A hallucinatory, erotic, still terrifying Italian horror masterpiece, equal parts ‘Snow White’ and opium dream” – Adam Nayman, The Ringer.
PART 2: 9.30 – Midnight – AFTERPARTY: DJ Set from Church of Italo
Church of Italo is a collective of Brighton-based DJs and artists, hosting queer club nights and fashion events around the city. Combining high-fashion with Catholic camp, their DJs play house, electro, italo and ballroom.
Perhaps the perfect accompaniment to the high camp horror of Argento, Church of Italo join us for a special Halloween set. Guests are encouraged to dress up!
Doors & refreshments open at 7pm for a 7:30pm start. Doors reopen for those with just party tickets at 9.30pm .
