In a UK first, George Romero’s 1978 zombie film ‘Dawn Of The Dead’ is to be screened in the period 1970’s Guildbourne Shopping Centre in Worthing, on Saturday October 1st at 7pm & 10.30pm. The screening take place as part of the On Location Film Festival, showing films in unusual places that have a direct relevance to the subject matter of the movie, bringing the “venues & films together”.
The classic tale of the undead taking over a shopping centre is a cult favourite and has been a big influence on other films – such as Shaun of the Dead and even Attack The Block, but it is the first time the film has been screened inside a shopping centre in the UK, and promises to be a great night out for both the living and the undead.
Everyone attending also gets a free glass of Barefoot wine, plus every zombie who attends gets free popcorn, with extra prizes for the best dressed zombies.
Festival director Pete Fijalkowski said “watching a film about zombies in a 1970’s shopping centre, whilst sitting in a 1970 shopping centre surrounded by zombies – what’s not to like?”
Tickets are £12.50 available from www.onlocationfilmfestival.com or from the Worthing theatres box office 01903 206206
