Vashti Bunyan has announced six UK dates this spring – her first headline shows in the UK for years!
After being discovered in the mid ’60s, Bunyan was described as the ‘female Bob Dylan’ but her music was unreleased, and this lead to a sense of despair and rejection. In the late ’90s, after typing her own name into an internet search engine, Bunyan became aware that her 1969 album Just Another Diamond Day was a ‘lost English classic’ and had cult following. JADD was re-released – almost thirty years after she had “abandoned it and music forever” – to huge critical acclaim and The Observer Music Monthly placed it at 53 in their ‘Top 100 British albums’.
Don’t miss Vashti Bunyan intimate show at the Saint George’s Church in Brighton on April 10. Tickets are available online now.
