As one of the first bands to sign to Factory Records back in 1978, A Certain Ratio preceded cult heroes New Order and Happy Mondays. Today they return with their five-year project and 10th studio album “Mind Made Up” which will no doubt be a long awaited return for post-punk house music enthusiasts. They have announced four dates, two of which will quite appropriately cover Manchester, the city of their origin all of 32 years ago. A Certain Romance, comprised of Jez Kerr, Martin Moscrop, Donald Johnson, Tony Quigley, Liam Mullan and Denise Johnson have seemingly stuck to their roots in a truly dedicated fashion. It is quite a refreshing and brave move not to have harnessed a new scene, which will no doubt appeal to the purists.
