Congratulations to Grant Dejonge, who won the artrepublic Street Art Competition this year. The competition was set up by artrepublic in partnership with Street Smart, a charity well known for helping thousands of homeless people both in Brighton and London. His winning piece will be reproduced onto a two storey building in Brighton. Situated in Jubilee Street, the art is used to serve as a painful reminder of the UK’s homeless situation, which is becoming an increasing problem.
Glen Pougnet, the Director of StreetSmart comments: “I think that the shortlist was truly magnificent but the winning piece is really powerful work. Congratulations to the artist and very many thanks to artrepublic. Every single penny donated will be used to fund vital projects to help the homeless in both London and Brighton.”
The next location of Grant Dejonge’s street art will be London’s Convent Garden where Glen will be painstakingly reproducing his piece onto a four storey building. You’ll be able to catch his art in London and Brighton until the end of March.
