Beautifully crafted from a whole hybrid of resonators, “Split the Atom” comes into being like the Hadron Collider; spinning and spewing its make-up, in its mission to indeed do the deed.
Low pulsating electro bass-lines and scratchy melodies form the back bone to this tune; it toys for the first minute, flirting with its participating audio, offering a taster of what’s to come. Quickly building into it’s first crescendo it dumps its toxic bass like the best of Autechre, breaking every subtle rule ever made – not too left field or we’ll lose the plot thank you – leaving the synths to drop that itchy build up and melody that happens to have a habit of repeating itself time and again, imbedding it forever in our matter – a fact.
Expect this one to be the soundtrack that never goes away and the only thing you remember the next day; and the next day and the next day.
