It is somewhat ironic for a band that fancies themselves as multi-instrumentalists that the beauty of this single comes from its simplicity; the stripped back approach leaving plenty of space for beautifully entwined vocal harmonies. Imagine The Postal Service throwing away their electronics, replacing them with instruments that belong in a museum and your not far off. Whatever you want to compare Musee Mecanique to, this is a beautiful single that would sit nicely in any car CD player on a sunny day. With the recent folk revival in full swing, this quintet will have no trouble fitting many a festival line-up this summer. See what’s sure to be an interesting live show for yourself at The Prince Albert, September 22.
Taken from their debut album “Hold This Ghost”, “Sleeping in Our Clothes” is the second UK single from Musee Mecanique.
