Phlux… A State Of Change is an exhibition of new photographic art work by students at Northbrook College.
Ella Penn, a local artist from Hove has made a photographic series of images entitled Oddments. The images centre around found objects she has encountered in and around the city, which are both humorous and quirky. Victoria Fulton on is a local photographer from Brighton; her work is based around the re-growth of nature over urban and suburban environments. The photographs are strong thought provoking images that make a powerful statement about our environment today and make you question how will it change tomorrow. The exhibition also features work from Sam Essex, Pete Harris, Jess Jones, Helen Main, Araceli Lynch, Joyce Odero and Gemma Tyler.
The show is a self-funded and organised event which gives students studying on the Contemporary Photographic Arts degree the opportunity to test themselves as practitioners beyond the college environment.
Phlux… A State Of Change will present a challenging range of approaches to photographic practice in response to the particular architecture of the host site of St Paul’s Centre, Worthing. The exhibition opens this Thursday, May 6 at 6pm – 8pm and continues on Friday and Saturday, 10am – 5pm.
