James Murphy has confirmed details of the follow up to LCD Soundsystem’s 2007 classic “Sound of Silver”.
In a chat with Mojo, he spoke about the recording process, which was taking place in a large mansion in LA, and how the songs were currently only instrumentals, with lyrics about to be worked on. Murphy suggested that the album is set to be more experimental than “Sound of Silver” and joked that it would be the album of the decade – if it wasn’t going to be too late for the accolade.
“I’m opening a book on how long it will take after this record’s release for people to be saying ‘If this was released five months ago, it would have been the album of the decade,'” joked the band’s creative mastermind.
The album is set for release in early 2010.
