Fans will be delighted to hear that Muri records are set to re-release Hundreds’ self-titled début album on July 2nd, with 4 exclusive remixes packaged up in a very special deluxe sleeve!
Music Week have tipped them as ones to watch for 2012, the Hamburg-based brother and sister act (Philipp and Eva Milner) sculpt beautifully crafted electronic pop, a heady mix of some-time fairytale some-time brooding, dark and romantic fantasia.
Clash gave the album 8 out of 10, joining in with the blogosphere in their native Germany, and general industry acclaim. Mostly recorded at home in Hamburg, the original 12 tracks fromthe album have been supplemented by 4 additional remixes for the UK release.
For the as yet uninitiated, Hundreds’ sound has been influenced by Eva’s love of trip-hop, from Portishead to Moloko and Lamb, although the Milners have none of those acts’ full-on dynamic. Their gentler style gravitates toward a stark, quiet sound, more akin to The xx, or their German peers The Notwist.
