The multiple Grammy winning psychedelic rock band The Flaming Lips – known for kooky titles, elaborate tracks and stage shows, evocative videos and perhaps most famously for Wayne Coyne’s habit of crowd-zorbing, are set to release a new album – their fifteenth LP – ‘The Terror’ at some point in the second quarter of this year.
The album will have a darker, more serious tone than some of their preceding work, which includes collaborations with Ke$ha, Nick Cave, and Erykah Badu on their last original album, ‘The Flaming Lips and Heady Fwends’ released in April of 2012.
This was followed up by a track-by-track- take on the seminal ”In the Court of the Crimson King’, by famed early prog rock pioneers King Crimson, in November of the same year.
