The Californian experimental indie rockers from Westlake Village are back with their second album. ‘Shuggie’, the first single was released at the beginning of October last year, and the second single ‘San Francisco’ was released earlier this month. Sounding the absent-minded pop instills a somewhat spacey feel. There’s a mix of styles, ranging from an abstract Billy Joel feel, to sounding similar to the Dresden Dolls without the sense of barely contained pressure. The tone swings from a possibly self-deprecating hipster awareness, to a more enjoyable Polyphonic Spree type of euphoria. It’s not going to shake the music world, but try before you buy, and you may just find something new to while away your nights with.
