With Summer (apparently) in full swing it means it’s time to grab your tent, shorts, suncream and rain coat and head off to the Festivals. Two of the best are without a doubt, the Bestivals. Started to create a family friendly environment, Camp Bestival (set in the stunning grounds of Lulworth Castle, Dorset) has grown in strength each year. Aside from an impressive artist, comedy, arts and entertainment line up (Happy Mondays, Little Dragon, Rizzle Kicks, Delilah and Scroobius Pip being just a selection), this year sees the festival become even more child orientated than before. Mr Tumble, Fantastic Mr Fox,Shrek and the Gruffalo all appear in their own special extravaganzas, while workshops in everything from BMXing to DJing and bread making should ensure the kids are tired enough to sleep through. A few random things for adults and little ones are the Art Cannons, Cardboard Castle Building, Pimp My Trolley, the Fire & Water Tree and the UV Bubble Making Bicycles. Or, sit back and chuckle at the unusul and yet fun idea of Howard Marks reading stories to your kids. From £175 adult weekend pass, under 10’s free but still need a ticket.
