Norman Jay – one of England’s foremost and pioneering DJs – is playing at Audio this weekend, March 19. A native Londoner, Jay debuted at Notting Hill Carnival in 1980 and with his blend of rare groove, house, and acid jazz, he became one of the most important trendsetters during the late ’80s and early ’90s as London’s underground club scene went mainstream. In 2000, Nuphonic Records released ‘Good Times With Joey And Norman Jay’, a compilation of Norman and his brother Joey’s – a prolific person in the 1970s reggae scene – top all-time tunes.
