Angela Barnes’ new comedy night, A Humble Quest For Universal Genius will be launching on February 18 and then after, the third Thursday of each month, at Komedia Brighton. Mixing comedians from the UK circuit, they advocate competition mixed with absurdity, pitching top comedians against each other in rounds, They claim to have aspirations to find the next Renaissance person (a Leonardo da Vinci for the 21st century)… perhaps.
This month they have Matt Forde – the star of Jon Richardson’s BBC 6 music radio show, against Terry Saunders, who is described to be ‘a whimsical raconteur’. With the regular in house host, Mark Allen at the helm, they will test the contestants with art, science, poetry, sport, hunting (yes hunting), philosophy and languages. Believed to be unique, the show will be regularly podcasted, so check it out.
Tickets are available for £6 from komedia.co.uk/brighton
