HOME TOWN: Brighton / Glasgow
MUSICAL FAMILY TREE: Pissed Jeans, Hot Snakes, Harvey Milk
WHY CARE: This four-piece describe themselves modestly as a band “who make loud riffs”. Whilst this is true, these aren’t your average noise-merchants, they are a force to be reckoned with. After turning heads at every dive bar venue in the UK underground scene over the past few years, they recently released their debut full-length “What Big Eyes” (Box Records) and it’s as primal as they come. Vocalist Sinead Young snarls her way through a foray of riffs, yelling woes of oppression and inequality, spouting tales of witchcraft and apparitions. Sounds weird, but it works – a welcome helping of cathartic noise to file next to your Dischord Records collection.
