Celebrating it’s tenth anniversary this year, Brighton’s Tattoo Convention is one of the world’s most prestigious tattoo gatherings, here on our very doorstep!
The event started at Brighton’s Racecourse but continued to grow in size along with demand and now takes place at the Brighton Centre over the weekend of Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 of May. This year you can expect over 300 British and international artists, all taking part in what’s sure to be one of the best years yet for the festival!
There’s plenty to do for those not wanting to expand their own personal collection of skin art too, with an array of exhibitions, the chance to shop and witness some great live music and DJs. A key exhibit this year comes in the form of “Hell Bent For Leather” an official exhibition of Judas Priest inspired painted leather jackets by 17 world class tattoo artists. Each artist had to choose a classic song by the iconic heavy metal band to inspire their work, with the jackets going to auction after the exhibit to benefit the Teenage Cancer Trust and the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up And Shout Cancer Fund.
Another great exhibit comes in the form of The Trip Out Bike Show titled “A Trip To Tijuana” which will certainly impress motorcycle enthusiasts, with many beautiful 60s and 70s choppers on show.
Taking place over the entirety of the weekend it’s a real celebration of tattoo culture and a don’t-miss event on the Brighton calendar!
If you’ve not bagged your tickets yet, they’re a very reasonable £40 for a full weekend ticket, or £25 for a single day event pass.
Under 16s can enter for free providing they are accompanied by an adult.
