As part of this year’s Brighton Digital Festival, Wes Goatley, a sound artist and researcher based in London, will produce a site specific version of Breathing Mephitic Air. First shown at Somerset House, this project will measure air quality outside of the ONCA gallery on one of Brighton’s busiest roads. Along with Tobias Revell, Wes developed Breathing Mephitic Air – a data sonification and visualisation installation which explores new immersive methods of understanding the local and global systems of air pollution, and the data through which it is measured.
Don’t Miss This Event Because: This is an interesting look at the issues surrounding air quality and an exciting demonstration of the role that an artist can play in its discussions.
