As featured in XYZ’s new music section last month, with the debut album “Good at Falling” due out March 1st, recently released single “Maybe You’re The Reason” gives a tempting glimpse as to what we’ll find on the release when it’s unleashed by Dirty Hits.
Making its debut as Phil Taggart’s ‘Chillest Record’ on BBC Radio 1, the track is joined by lead singles “Lilo” and “Follow My Girl” on the album; which was produced by the artist herself Amber Bain, as well as BJ Burton (Low, Bon Iver) and the 1975’s George Daniel.
Having started life as a bunch of demos on Bain’s laptop, the album was worked on in studios across Wisconsin, Brussels and Oxford, with the resultant release delivering an album that takes influence from Bain’s life in a way her work never has before; a personal, vulnerable and yet confident body of work.
“These songs are definitely more direct,” she explains. “The album has a lot more of me in it, so it makes sense.”
